Well, last night as planned I sneaked out for my first run, the plan was to run for 1 minute and walk for 1 minute, but it was so difficult, I struggled to run for more than 20 seconds, with a 1 minute 40 second walk inbetween. Was doing ok at that, until I came to the last corner of the triangle, jogged merrily across the road (the end was in sight) and then put my foot down a pot hole and went no further.
Spent this morning in a&e (No-one would take me last night) there are no bones broken, but I have torn the ligaments in my foot, which means I have to sit with it elevated for the next 48 hours, then start putting weight onto it on Monday.
Not exactly what I had planned for my Bank Holiday Weekend, can't do any jogging for 4 weeks either.

Coping quite well
Have kept up the training programme, have managed to walk 3 times yesterday, once this morning and twice the day before, I weighed myself this morning and have lost 3 lb already, so am pleased about that too.
Bought trainers and tracksuit trousers today at Knox Sports, they were quite expensive, even though I got the 'cheap' option, however, they will hopefully be getting a lot of use. Both were Puma, so hoping they stand the test of time. All I have to do now is put them on and start jogging, hoping to try once tonight after Smallville, hope no-one sees me!!!!

The great Cumbrian run
I have signed up to take part in the Great Cumbrian Run. I regained all the weight I lost, so I will be combining losing weight with training for the run.
trying to pluck up the courage to get Alex to photograph the fat me, so that I can post monthly updates, and maybe get a visual improvement too.
The Great Cumbrian Run is 13 miles long, during October, (waiting for my intro pack so not got a definate date yet) so i have time to train.
Today I have eaten very healthily, and even managed to get up early enough to walk the dogs around the triangle before work (8/10 mile) When I got home at 4.30 I took them around the triangle again and I intend to do the same tonight, which I know I will find difficult as I will be tired by then, but at the moment I am quite determined.
Hopefully the weight will drop off then. Going into town on saturday to get proper trainers so that I can start running, until then I am going to walk briskly.
Wish me luck!!!

Stayed the same
Not very happy with myself this week as got on the scales yesterday to find that I had stayed the same weight. It is better than gaining weight, but very disappointing after losing 4lbs the last 2 weeks.
This week won't be fantastic either as I have been at Closeburn today and it was a Burns Supper, so lots of haggis, neeps and tatties!!! Was naughty and had two pieces of shortbread too.
Really have to try harder tomorrow, seem to have lost my motivation a bit, and not sure why, but need to turn it round as can't stay stuck at 11stone 12lbs for the rest of time. Need to lose at least 12 lbs, but would rather lose 19lbs and get back to 10and a half stone.
Was really feeling the benefits of losing the first 10lbs, my clothes looked so much better, but got used to that now, so need to lose more to feel better.
Fingers crossed for this week

This just sums it up
Twas The Diet After Christmas
Twas the day after Christmas,
and all through the house
Nothing would fit me,
not even a blouse.
The cookies I'd nibbled,
the eggnog I'd taste
At the holiday parties had gone
to my waist.
When I got on the scales there arose such a number!
When I walked to the store (less a walk than a lumber).
I'd remember the marvelous meals I'd prepared;
The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rared,
The wine and the rum balls, the bread and the cheese
And the way I'd never said, 'No thank you, please.'
As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirt
And prepared once again to do battle with dirt---
I said to myself, as I only can
'You can't spend a winter disguised as a man!'
So--away with the last of the sour cream dip,
Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip
Every last bit of food that I like must be banished
'Till all the additional ounces have vanished.
I won't have a cookie--not even a lick.
I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick.
I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie,
I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry.
I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore---
But isn't that what January is for?
Unable to giggle, no longer a riot.
Happy New Year to all and to all a good diet!
Happy New Year!

A little cheat
After a difficult day today, where i got myself wound up expecting good news, which never came, then ruining my car wheel by hitting a huge pothole. I came home and made my tea, which I had got up early to put into the slow cooker, then I blew it by having a low fat date and walnut cake, then a spoonful of ice cream and strawberry sauce. Not a big cheat, so hoping it won't have a catastrophic effect on this weeks weight loss
