End of training

Well, last night as planned I sneaked out for my first run, the plan was to run for 1 minute and walk for 1 minute, but it was so difficult, I struggled to run for more than 20 seconds, with a 1 minute 40 second walk inbetween. Was doing ok at that, until I came to the last corner of the triangle, jogged merrily across the road (the end was in sight) and then put my foot down a pot hole and went no further.
Spent this morning in a&e (No-one would take me last night) there are no bones broken, but I have torn the ligaments in my foot, which means I have to sit with it elevated for the next 48 hours, then start putting weight onto it on Monday.
Not exactly what I had planned for my Bank Holiday Weekend, can't do any jogging for 4 weeks either.

Coping quite well

Have kept up the training programme, have managed to walk 3 times yesterday, once this morning and twice the day before, I weighed myself this morning and have lost 3 lb already, so am pleased about that too.
Bought trainers and tracksuit trousers today at Knox Sports, they were quite expensive, even though I got the 'cheap' option, however, they will hopefully be getting a lot of use. Both were Puma, so hoping they stand the test of time. All I have to do now is put them on and start jogging, hoping to try once tonight after Smallville, hope no-one sees me!!!!

Forgot to say

my weight is currently 12stone 6lb

The great Cumbrian run

I have signed up to take part in the Great Cumbrian Run. I regained all the weight I lost, so I will be combining losing weight with training for the run.
trying to pluck up the courage to get Alex to photograph the fat me, so that I can post monthly updates, and maybe get a visual improvement too.
The Great Cumbrian Run is 13 miles long, during October, (waiting for my intro pack so not got a definate date yet) so i have time to train.
Today I have eaten very healthily, and even managed to get up early enough to walk the dogs around the triangle before work (8/10 mile) When I got home at 4.30 I took them around the triangle again and I intend to do the same tonight, which I know I will find difficult as I will be tired by then, but at the moment I am quite determined.
Hopefully the weight will drop off then. Going into town on saturday to get proper trainers so that I can start running, until then I am going to walk briskly.
Wish me luck!!!

Stayed the same

Not very happy with myself this week as got on the scales yesterday to find that I had stayed the same weight. It is better than gaining weight, but very disappointing after losing 4lbs the last 2 weeks.
This week won't be fantastic either as I have been at Closeburn today and it was a Burns Supper, so lots of haggis, neeps and tatties!!! Was naughty and had two pieces of shortbread too.
Really have to try harder tomorrow, seem to have lost my motivation a bit, and not sure why, but need to turn it round as can't stay stuck at 11stone 12lbs for the rest of time. Need to lose at least 12 lbs, but would rather lose 19lbs and get back to 10and a half stone.
Was really feeling the benefits of losing the first 10lbs, my clothes looked so much better, but got used to that now, so need to lose more to feel better.
Fingers crossed for this week

This just sums it up

Twas The Diet After Christmas
Twas the day after Christmas,
and all through the house
Nothing would fit me,
not even a blouse.
The cookies I'd nibbled,
the eggnog I'd taste
At the holiday parties had gone
to my waist.
When I got on the scales there arose such a number!
When I walked to the store (less a walk than a lumber).
I'd remember the marvelous meals I'd prepared;
The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rared,
The wine and the rum balls, the bread and the cheese
And the way I'd never said, 'No thank you, please.'
As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirt
And prepared once again to do battle with dirt---
I said to myself, as I only can
'You can't spend a winter disguised as a man!'
So--away with the last of the sour cream dip,
Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip
Every last bit of food that I like must be banished
'Till all the additional ounces have vanished.
I won't have a cookie--not even a lick.
I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick.
I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie,
I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry.
I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore---
But isn't that what January is for?
Unable to giggle, no longer a riot.
Happy New Year to all and to all a good diet!

Happy New Year!

A little cheat

After a difficult day today, where i got myself wound up expecting good news, which never came, then ruining my car wheel by hitting a huge pothole. I came home and made my tea, which I had got up early to put into the slow cooker, then I blew it by having a low fat date and walnut cake, then a spoonful of ice cream and strawberry sauce. Not a big cheat, so hoping it won't have a catastrophic effect on this weeks weight loss

Another couple of lbs

Sneaked onto the scales this morning and have reached 12 stone!!!
Managing to keep within my check allowance quite easily now. Managing fruit for puds, and not feeling hungry after lunch even though I am eating considerably less for lunch now.
Trying not to be taken in by the low fat treats as I have in the past, but trying to retrain myself to have fruit for snacks now, and doing not too badly at all.

Monday 14 January 2008

Stayed at 4lbs

Weighed myself yesterday and stayed at the 4lb mark, but that is ok. Stayed within checks allowance yesterday, today has been harder as it is a Closeburn day, so I need to eat what I am given. Had a piece of Christmas cake again, but a much smaller one this time.
Alex had made a low fat chicken korma for tea, which I had late as I was at a meeting, as usual he gave me enough rice for two people, and made me a nan bread too. I was able to throw some rice away, and only ate a bit of nann bread, but still must have gone over my allowance. I will just have hot choc tonight, possibly a bit of fruit, but won't punish myself as I had been very good for breakfast and snack.

Really pleased today

Stayed within my checks allowance Thursday and friday, popped on the scales this morning (although my weigh in day is tomorrow) and I have lost 4 lb!!!!
Added onto my weight loss from the first week of the year, that is 6lb, which is very nearly half a stone so am thrilled about that.
Going to make sure I stick to my diet today, in the hope of shaving another lb off, but not sure that is possible in one day lol.
Crunchy nut cornflakes for brekkie today (5 checks) and a lemon and raisin pancake (4 checks) so feel as though I have had a treat, but not gone over the balance.
going to take the dogs out later for some exercise too, so all looking good

Wednesday 9 January 2008

Another good day

Stayed within my check allowance today, and managed to fit in a 20 min walk with the dogs too.
Toast again for breakfast, 10 checks
fruit for snack, free
3 crispbakes and ww soup for lunch 13 checks (a bit naughty)
a microwave meal, sweet & spicy chicken noodles with extra veg 18 checks
hot choc for supper and a tangerine 2 checks
In total, 43 checks, so 2 to carry forward.
Stepped on the scales tonight, no change, but I was fully dressed rather than in my pj's, and it was evening not morning, so might have a quick step on in the morning, or may just hold on til sunday.
At least it didn't go up!!!

Tuesday 8 January 2008

Much better today

Well, I am well within my 45 checks today.
Breakfast was toast, weightwatchers bread so not too many calories, it came to 10 checks.
Remembered my diet at work, so had an apple for snack, 2 checks, but comes in my free fruit allowance.
Lunch was weight watchers tomato and basil soup, it is really tasty, and much needed as it was really cold! had a ham sandwich too, didn't put butter on the bread, so just added a little plum chutney. Lunch came to 10 checks so still plenty of checks to spare.
Found it really difficult to not have a 'pud' after lunch, but put it to one side and had a coffee, then took the dogs for a quick 5 min walk, by then the longing for something sweet had passed.
Didn't need any more between lunch and tea, so still had 25 checks to spare by tea.
Low fat sausage and boiled potatoes for tea, with corn on the cob really tasty, and fairly filling. it came to 14 checks, so I had enough left for a low fat chocolate chip slice (4 checks)
That leaves me with 7 checks, tonight I plan not to have too much else, just my hot chocolate. That should leave me with 5 checks to carry forward for another day, or a boost to the weight loss!
No exercise today though. Dark when I left for work, and dark when I came back.

Not a great start

Today started well with a bowl of crunchy nut cornflakes and coffee. I must admit to still feeling hungry after it, I'm hoping that my stomach will shrink or something so that I can start to feel full on 30g of cereal, but just now it is not hitting the spot at all!
Today we had new starts at nursery, so by snack time I had completely forgotton my diet, and I ate some crisps, about half a bag, so another 2 checks, but not too bad. I also put my hand up for hot chocolate, but fortunately my nursery nurse Amy refused to let me have some!
I knew when I went to Closeburn at lunch that I would need to have whatever was offered, on offer today was sausage rolls and a cheese roll, with mushroom soup. I ate that, then I was offered a slice of Christmas cake. I was very good and said no, even though I love Christmas cake. Unfortunately Yvonne (who is also supposed to be cutting back) reminded me that I had said I would have whatever was offered, so I had some. I feel so cross with myself for that now, but can't do much about it I guess.
Tea was supposed to be low fat sausages, but Alex couldn't find them in the freezer, so we had fish fingers instead. I had 3, with 2 pieces of scampi, he also gave me 5 potatoes!!! I only ate 3, even though I hate leaving food on the plate. For pudding i had melon and apple, so not bad.
I know I am way over my 45 checks, so not even going to calculate them. today I am not having anything else, except my highlights hot chocolate tonight (40 calories)
Trying harder for tomorrow!!!

Sunday 6 January 2008

Big day tomorrow

Made a good start today, with some good exercise. Took the dogs for a walk around the triangle in the morning, then in the afternoon I had a good half hour or more digging in the garden, so feel pleased with myself for that.

Written my diet plan from tomorrow to Wednesday, will add a bit more as the week progresses. Bought a few diety bits from tesco. All I need to do now is stick to the plan!
My weight on January 1st was 12 stone 8 lb, today it is 12stone 6lb.
On the Crazyxstitchers forum, I have joined a slimming club, not sure of the fine details yet, but the greatest weightloss in the month will receive a gift from all the members in the club, sounds good, but the fine details need to be ironed out.
Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Here we go!

I have decided to blog my diet in an attempt to help me stick to it and so here it is!
I hope it isn't too boring, there will be lots of food diaries, but hopefully lots of successes too. One thing I struggle to fit in is any sort of exercise, so plan on including some of that too.
Please encourage me!
(Between Jan 1st and today I lost 2lb, just by cutting down)
